Abraham is the first pamphlet in the Golden Chain series of Bible stories for the mystic. His story illustrates the beginning steps taken by those starting on the mystical path. He hears a voice within that takes him on a journey of spiritual discovery. He makes a covenant with God that is the foundation of three great religions and sets the course of Western culture on the track of monotheism. He meets the Christ in the form of Melchizedek, the Prince of Peace. Ultimately he must discern the nature of the voice that sent him on his spiritual journey. Was it the voice of a rewarding and punishing God who demands sacrifice, or was it the indwelling spirit of God who is one, all good, without opposite?
